In Dwelling: How can this be?

Advent elicits gratitude. Here are some of the wonderful things that make me glad:

My children, without exception, inspire my respect and admiration.
Sparkling, new-fallen snow makes even this bloom-forsaken season beautiful.
God loves me and has a wonderful plan for my life.
There is a special person in my life whom I cherish.
My Christmas shopping is almost done, and I'm keeping up with the wrapping. (Please understand how unusual this is.)
My extended family consists of people I would want to be around even if I weren't related to them.
I have never known homelessness, hunger, a broken home or abuse.
God changed the course of history when He became man, so I can approach him freely and respond to his invitation into relationship.
Sometimes God enables me to make a positive difference in someone else's life.
Warm bagels with cream cheese are available to Gentiles as well as Jews. Thank you for sharing.
There are Christmas lights, and people use lots of them.
Hair grows. No bad haircut is forever.
The United States of America is filled with many more people of courage, honor and good will than I might have suspected, and I keep running into them.
