I skipped second. I didn't consider it a favor -- the long term effect was to make me feel like I was peculiar from then until I went to college. Come to think of it, maybe I was peculiar.
Iron Butterfly? You can tell me the details when we get together.
I'll go post mine on our blog, Exultet.
"Ate and loved raw kibbee, a Middle-Eastern dish consisting of ground lamb, spices, wheat and olive oil."
One of my CB students brought this to me, but I thought it was supposed to be cooked so I cooked it and ate it - delicious even cooked!
"Skipped a grade in school."
Technically, I skipped first grade - started school in England in an ungraded classroom, returned to the USA at age 6 but went into a grade 2/3 at a private school rather than the grade 1 the public schools thought I should be in.
"Camped out while 6 months pregnant." did that one, and hated it, especially considering that we had a few other kids too.
"Took a bowling class for college credit. otta love the community colleges! Had to have a PE credit..
Tell us about the Iron Butterfly thing..
In high school I was in a youth group that did fundraising to go on "educational" trips. The (eventually Unitarian) church building had great acoustics, so we put on some concerts -- Iron Butterfly, Procol Harum, etc. Pretty cool for those days.
