Blue Orange Green Pink Purple

In Dwelling

I'm Roz, and this is my relaxed space. It's about fun, good conversation and — well yes — good conversation. Pull up a well-padded armchair and help yourself to something to drink. You'll find cheese and crackers on the sideboard. What's new with you?

If you're looking for things in a more serious or spiritual vein, you can check out Exultet where I write that sort of thing.

I miss hockey. I don't feel betrayed and bereft as I did during the baseball strike(s), but it has always been my Winter Sport. Will I never see Yzerman (a.k.a. The Captain) play again? Sigh.

Those who are inclined to feel likewise may enjoy this.

Alas, it is the only true sport for me. Messrs B and G have done what Germany and Japan failed to accomplish: Prevent the awarding of the Stanley Cup.
It took pestilence to stop it in 1919, and pestilence has struck again.
Now I live for the men's and women's world championships.
This is a country in mourning. Luckily, the game goes on with all its passion on the ponds and rinks where the love of the sport rules, and not money. And the women's national championship is pending.
    Great hockey by skilled players.
Let's hope those men in the NHL learn to co-operate. I have to admit, though, I sure would like to see several clubs fold. We'd get a less diluted talent pool, fewer idiot owners and a better game to watch.

I'm with you. Back down to the Original Six, that would be ideal.

You realize that the cup is still down in Florida. No wonder there were so many hurricanes this year -- Mother Nature's trying to blow it north.

Actually, TSN did a Hockey Lives Here six-hour special on Saturday where TV crews followed games on ponds etc across the country. The Cup was in a small town on the Prairies, so I believe there's a case to be made for not giving it back. And with the NHL the way it is, Stanley probably goes back to the hockey hall of fame to be with all of the other trophies. So the elements for a coup are in place!
